GOLD RIVER is a cosy Chinese restaurant. We serve authentic oriental plates, dessert and wine. Chinese dining etiquette is about sharing, not only food, but sharing the atmosphere, sharing a nice conversation, and most importantly sharing time together.
We hope that our restaurant will become a piece of pleasant memory for our customers, that is something money can not buy .

Takeaway food was ok but the chow mein was watery and greasy. The lady who answers the phone & takes your order is the... most rudest person I've ever come across, she is very angry and abrupt & she put the phone down on me. She may be busy but no need to speak to customers like that. I would never order from here again. Delivery guy was lovely though.read more

On the whole the food is good, However we will not be using this Chinese takeaway again unfortunately due to them keep... putting price up and "trying" to rip us off! always seems to be when the man answers! we were regular customers, NOT ANYMORE!read more

Salt and pepper munch box!
Ordered a salt and pepper munch box to collect, got told 20 mins, perfect. Picked it up took it Home and wow !! Absolutely amazing value, it was gorgeous!!! Only thing I would say was perhaps less salt and pepper chips and more spring rolls/ribs etc. But other than that, top notch.

1st Visit to the restaurant
1st Visit to the restaurant but won’t be our last. A small restaurant with a separate takeaway attached. Orders were taken quickly for drinks and we didn’t have to wait long for our mixed starter which was lovely. We all ordered different main courses and the duck in plum sauce was particularly tasty. Portion sizes are good. There isn’t much atmosphere in the restaurant as it’s like sitting in someone’s house, but we still had a lovely evening. Orders are taken by the female owner who is quite direct but the young man who served us was very polite, he seemed to be serving in both the restaurant and the takeaway. We will be visiting again.

Excellent service & great quality!
We have been to Gold River recently while in Filey for a week on the coast & were really happy with the quality of the dishes presented & service provided.
We enjoyed all our family favourites, from crispy chicken in Peking sauce, chicken in Satay sauce, to BBQ ribs & Singaporean Fried rice. The dishes were tasty & served to a high standard. Oh yes, the salt & chilli chips were excellent!
Please note - they only accept cash (not sure why?) so come prepared, as the nearest cash machine is a 5-10 min walk at Tesco’s.
When next in Filey, we shall return!

Happy happy birthday meal
Staff were very friendly. Food was very tasty and plenty of it. Sadly they are too small to cater for large groups on one table but we were quite happy on 2 tables (16 people) although it was
cramped.
Plenty of choice food wise. Would eat there again.

Annual reighton holiday
Always order from here when on our annual reighton sands holiday and always very impressed. Delivered within the hour to the caravan door - fantastic. Always come with complimentary dishes this time spring rolls and banana fritters. The beef in black bean sauce is the best we have tasted. Looking forward to next time already. 5 star Chinese
